The Team.

Karen Baldwin, founder of Happy Hooves, trained initially as a mental health nurse at Ulster University. She was awarded the Dawson Memorial Award in 1995 for excellence in psychiatry. In 1997, she returned to university at King’s College London to train in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) under the renowned Professor Isaac Marks at the Maudsley Hospital, London. Karen specialises in treating all anxiety disorders, depression, and trauma, drawing on years of clinical experience and a compassionate approach. In addition to her therapeutic work, she is also a part-time lecturer and trainer, delivering a range of courses and workshops in mental health and wellbeing. Her lifelong love of horses and her dedication to helping others come together in these heartfelt stories.
 
 
Aisling Chada, a Primary School Teacher with a First-Class Honours Bachelor of Education degree from St. Mary’s University, has extensive experience working with children of all ages both in the UK and internationally. In her current role as an Inclusion Officer, she is dedicated to promoting equity amongst learners. Holding additional qualifications and experience in supporting children’s mental health, her passion for education and wellbeing has helped shape these stories, ensuring they resonate deeply with young readers.
 
 
Jessica Hill, an equine artist from South Devon, England, has life-long experience in the field of equestrian art and is highly skilled in many mediums and various montage techniques. Drawing inspiration from many aspects of life – including music and culture – she has developed a distinctive style that blends accuracy with creativity, infusing each piece with depth and emotion. Through her illustrations, Jessica brings the ponies and animals of Hoofprints on the Hill to life, capturing their warmth, spirit and authenticity. Her heartfelt artistry beautifully reflects the soul of Happy Hooves.
